ABOUT AVID

We didn't Grow Out of a Holding Company. We Grew Out of the Work.

AVID was founded when three experienced roofing contractors came together to serve a national client as one accountable team. We're built by people who came up through the field—installer to foreman to leadership—not by investors or private equity. That origin is still how we operate.

ABOUT AVID

Why We Stand Today.

AVID is a Texas-based commercial roofing operator offering manufacturer-certified systems with dedicated project managers. Our leadership team has 205 years of combined experience, serving property owners, general contractors, and facility managers in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and 13 states.

The commercial roofing industry has a quality problem. It also has an integrity problem. Most of the time, those two problems trace back to the same source: ownership groups that have never installed a roof, supervised a crew, or stood in front of a building owner with a leak that wasn't supposed to be there.

AVID was started to do it differently. Every person in our ownership and senior leadership came up through the field. We've installed the membrane. We've fabricated the flashings. We've worked the storm restoration circuit when the phone wouldn't stop ringing. And we've sat across from the building owner who got burned by a contractor who overpromised.

OUR STORY

Three Roofers. One National Client. A Company That Shouldn't Have Existed Yet.

AVID was formed when a national commercial client asked three experienced roofing contractors to come together and service their footprint as one accountable team. That client gave us a runway most companies never get — and we used it to build something we'd actually want to work for.

"We're not a holding company. We're not private equity. We're a Texas corporation run by people who started in this trade as teenagers and never left it."

Today, AVID operates in 13 states from our Fort Worth headquarters. Our leadership and field teams carry 205 years of combined industry experience. Every project is assigned to a dedicated project manager who answers to you by name and provides daily reports—accountability stays on-site until the work is complete. Our team scales seasonally to match demand, which means leadership stays engaged with the work rather than managing through layers. $300M+ installed over the careers of the people who run this company. That's not a number we put on a slide deck — it's what happens when experienced people stay in the trade.

A message from Dave

I started my career at 17, sweeping the floor of a sheet metal shop. A few years later I was a foreman. Since then I've worked every job this industry has to offer — installer, foreman, salesperson, system designer, project manager — and spent ten years leading a $40 million-a-year team before starting AVID.

Forty years in, I've installed over $300 million worth of quality roofing across the U.S.

I tell you all that for one reason: when AVID gives you a number, walks your roof, or stands behind a warranty, it's coming from people who've been on the other side of every one of those conversations.

01. REPORT-DAILY

You get a written report every day the job is open. Not a summary at the end.

02. NAME THE PERSON

Every project gets a project manager, and every project manager reaches out daily. We take the guess work out of getting your roof replaced.

03. SPEC IT RIGHT

We'd rather lose the bid than design a system that fails in five years. The cheapest roof is the one you don't have to replace.

04. STAND BEHIND IT

A warranty is only as good as the company that signs it. We're a Texas corporation in good standing.

Quality Guarantee

No matter what style of roof system you have or the materials used in its construction, we can take a look and reliably determine whether a repair or replacement is in your best interest. Whether your roof is large or small, modern or aging, sloped or flat, we have the knowledge and expertise you need on your side.

Just had a roof leak repaired, and they were fantastic! Friendly, on time, quick, and they did a great job cleaning up all the dust from the project. They left the area better than they found it, and the roof looks great.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Common signs of commercial roof damage include active leaks, water stains, standing water, cracked or blistered membranes, loose flashing, damaged seams, mold, and rising energy costs. Schedule a professional inspection if you notice any of these warning signs.

When a commercial roof fails, AVID responds through its 24/7 emergency dispatch at 833-766-3003. After assessing the building, active leak, and weather conditions, we work to provide temporary dry-in within 72 hours for qualifying emergencies. We document the damage, stabilize the affected areas, and develop a clear scope for permanent repair or replacement. A dedicated project manager communicates directly with you and provides updates throughout the work.

When damage occurs, AVID documents it with drone photography and an on-roof assessment, writes a scope your adjuster can approve, and then executes the repair or replacement. That documentation and accountability are what accelerate claims and get faster payouts. Most facility managers don't have that process in place, which is why having a contractor who does matters.

Heavy rain doesn't cause leaks—it exposes existing ones. Water finds small cracks, gaps, or failed seams that were already there. Common culprits are failed flashing (around vents, penetrations, edges), deteriorated seams, punctures in the membrane, clogged drains that cause pooling, or expansion joints in tilt-wall or masonry buildings. Once water finds a path, it spreads fast—into insulation, framing, ceilings, and electrical systems—turning a small leak into major damage.

The leak shows up during rain because that's when the volume increases enough for water to find and follow the path to the interior. The real problem happened before the rain; the rain just made it visible.

Don't wait. Call AVID at 833-766-3003 for same-day assessment. Temporary containment stops the damage while you decide on permanent repair. A drone inspection shows where water is actually getting in, not just where it appears inside the building.

Twice a year — spring and fall — plus after any major storm. Twice-a-year inspections catch small issues while they're still cheap to fix, and they keep manufacturer warranties valid (most require documented inspections).

A: For large-envelope buildings that stay operational, TPO, PVC, and EPDM are industry standards. TPO is cost-effective and performs well in heat. PVC is durable and reflective, lowering cooling costs. EPDM is proven long-term. The choice depends on budget, climate exposure, and whether you want energy-saving reflectivity built in.

More important than material choice: installation quality and system compatibility. A cheap TPO installed poorly fails faster than quality EPDM installed right. AVID is manufacturer-certified by Sika, Siplast, Garland, Johns Manville, and FiberTite—meaning every system is specified. That's why the warranty remains valid in year 18 instead of being voided due to an installer technicality.

For retail and warehouse roofs, a dedicated project manager stays on-site from start to finish, which matters on large envelopes where coordination and quality control prevent leaks over tenants or inventory. Call (817) 984-8441 to discuss which system fits your building and budget. We'll assess your existing roof, tell you if coating or repair makes sense, or spec a replacement that doesn't surprise you later.

A full walk of the membrane, drone imagery for hard-to-access areas, photo documentation of all penetrations and flashings, moisture survey if warranted, core cuts on flat roofs when needed, and a written report with prioritized recommendations and pricing.

No. Roof warranties cover manufacturing defects and workmanship, not weather events. Hail damage is a separate issue—that's what property insurance covers. If your roof is hit by hail, the membrane warranty remains intact; the hail damage claim goes to your insurance.

The catch: if repairs are done poorly or with mismatched materials, that can create warranty gaps. That's why the contractor who repairs hail damage matters. AVID is manufacturer-certified with Sika, Siplast, Garland, Johns Manville, and FiberTite—meaning repairs meet specifications and the warranty still holds. A non-certified contractor cutting corners could void the warranty on the repaired section.

When hail hits, call AVID at 833-766-3003. We'll document the damage with drone photography, write a scope your adjuster can approve, and repair it right so the warranty stays valid. Call (817) 984-8441 with questions about your current warranty or repair options.
