THE OPERATOR PROMISE

Most commercial roofing companies bid on the job and visit twice.

AVID does not operate like your typical mom-and-pop. AVID projects are assigned to and fully supervised by a project manager who answers to you by name and gives you a daily report. When something goes sideways on a flat roof in August, you don't get a call center. You get the person who scoped the job.

SIX CORE SERVICES

What we install, repair, and maintain.

From emergency response to long-term asset management — these are the capabilities that make AVID an operator, not just a contractor.

01 - 24/7 LIVE DISPATCH

Black outline icon of a telephone handset with a clock face inside it

24/7 Emergency Service

Storm damage, active leaks, failed flashings. The line is answered by a person authorized to dispatch.

  • > Storm-driven leaks — 72-hour prioritized response time for service-contract clients
  • > Mechanical failures, fires & smoke response
  • > Priority response for service-contract clients

02 - IN-HOUSE FABRICATION

Three overlapping patterned tiles in black outline

Architectural Sheet Metal

Edge metal is where most roofs fail first. We fabricate and install it in-house — same team, same schedule, same accountability as the membrane.

  • > Copings, edge metal, through-wall flashings
  • > ES-1 Compliant edge systems engineered for wind uplift
  • > Custom architectural profiles, not catalog parts

03 - ANCHOR SERVICE

Commercial Roofing

TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, and metal systems installed to manufacturer specifications. Manufacturer-certified across every system we install

  • > 60-mil TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, metal
  • > Certified: Sika, Siplast, Garland, Johns Manville + more
  • > Installed on occupied buildings without shutting you down

04 - SINGLE-CONTRACT

Design-Build Reroof

The design-versus-install gap is where commercial roofs go wrong. We close it. Assessment, drawings, submittals, and installation — one contract, one accountable team.

  • > No consultant fee on top of the install
  • > Schedule compresses because design and build overlap
  • > One warranty covers the whole assembly

05 - PORTFOLIO PROGRAM

Roof Asset Management

A roof with no maintenance program isn't saving money — it's deferring a bigger bill without warning. We build a program that keeps both the warranty and the insurer happy.

  • > Biannual inspections, GPS-tagged & documented
  • > Multi-year capital plan for portfolio owners
  • > 48-hour storm assessments on covered properties

06 - FULL ENVELOPE

Water droplets on a surface, with an arrow indicating fluid runoff or absorption.

Waterproofing & Restoration

Water doesn't only come through the roof. We handle the other half of the envelope - vertical walls, plaza decks, parking structures, and below-grade.

  • > Tilt-wall and expansion joints, windows perimeters
  • > Plaza decks, parking structures, below-grade walls
  • > Restoration that extends life before capital replacement

WHERE OUR ROOFS END UP

Eight building types. Different problems. Same standard

A hotel roof has to stay quiet. A medical roof can't shut down a wing. A retail roof has to hide every

penetration the tenants drilled without asking. We scope the work to the building, not the template.

01 - COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES

Empty industrial warehouse with high metal ceiling, large windows, and concrete floor

Most of what AVID does falls under one banner: commercial roofing for property managers and building owners who need their assets protected and their budgets respected. Office parks, mixed-use developments, multi-tenant buildings — the common thread is that the roof is a line item you'd rather not think about until it fails, and our job is to make sure it doesn't. We handle the inspection, the system recommendation, the installation, and the maintenance plan that keeps a small problem from becoming a capital expense.

02 - HOTEL ROOFING

Modern waterfront buildings at dusk, lit walkway leading toward a tall illuminated tower under a blue sky

A hotel roof has a guest list. Every leak is a vacated room, a refunded night, and a review you can't take back. Hotels also stack rooftop HVAC, kitchen exhaust, and pool-deck waterproofing into a tight footprint, which means more penetrations, more seams, and more places for water to find a way in. We install and maintain hotel roofs with that pressure in mind — phased work that keeps floors occupied and detailing built around the equipment that's actually up there.

03 - INDUSTRIAL ROOFING

Industrial power plant with four smokestacks emitting orange-lit steam at dusk

Warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing plants cover acres of inventory and equipment with membranes to keep them dry. Scale is the whole game here: a roof this size has thousands of linear feet of seams and dozens of curbs, drains, and scuppers, and any one of them is a failure point. We specify systems that stand up to the span — and we maintain them on a schedule, because at this square footage, you find the problem before the storm does, or you don't find it until it's flooded the floor.

04 - MEDICAL FACILITY

Aerial view of a large white multi-building campus surrounded by trees and pathways.

Hospitals, clinics, and medical office buildings have the lowest tolerance for failure of any property AVID works on. Water intrusion in a clean room, pharmacy, or imaging suite isn't an inconvenience — it's a shutdown and a liability. Medical roofs also demand careful coordination: the work occurs above occupied patient spaces, around sensitive equipment, and under inflexible code requirements. We plan medical projects around the building to keep it fully operational, with containment and scheduling that keep disruption off the patient floors.

05 - OFFICE BUILDING ROOFING

Modern office buildings with glass facades on a sunny street corner

Office buildings are about the people underneath and the tenants you answer to. A leak in a leased suite is a tenant-relations problem before it's a roofing problem, and roof work during business hours is noise, smell, and disruption that your occupants notice. We sequence office projects to protect the workday — quiet phases, weekend windows where it makes sense, and a system spec that gets the disruption over with in one go rather than dragging it out through repeated repairs.

06 - RESTAURANT ROOFING

Open-air restaurant with white tables and chairs set with blue napkins under a shaded roof

Restaurant roofs fight a battle nothing else does: grease. Kitchen exhaust coats the surrounding membrane, breaking down standard systems faster than weather ever could, and the roof is crowded with exhaust fans, makeup-air units, and gas lines all punching through the field. On top of that, you can't close. We install restaurant roofs with grease-resistant detailing around the exhaust and schedule the work to keep your kitchen serving — because a closed restaurant is a roofing repair that costs more.

07 - RETAIL ROOFING

Brick building under renovation beside modern white and red-brick buildings on a sunny day

Retail roofing is about protecting inventory and keeping the floor open. A leak over a sales floor damages merchandise, closes sections, and sends customers elsewhere. Retail properties also tend to be wide, low-slope buildings with long drainage runs where ponding water is the recurring enemy. We spec and maintain retail roofs to move water off fast and to take the work in stages, so the store keeps selling while the roof gets sound.

08 - SPECIALTY ROOFING

Rooftop with HVAC units overlooking apartment buildings and a construction crane in the distance

Some buildings don't fit a category — and those are often the ones that need the most experienced eye. Churches, schools, government facilities, historic structures, and anything with an unusual roof geometry or a one-off problem fall into this category. When a building has a roof that off-the-shelf answers don't solve, that's the conversation AVID wants to have. We've seen enough of the strange ones to know that the right system is the one built for what's actually in front of us, not what's easiest to bid.

Frequently Asked Questions:

If the leaks are isolated and the membrane still has life in it, you repair. If you're chasing leaks across multiple areas, seeing widespread ponding, or the roof is past 20 years old, you're replacing it. A proper inspection — including core cuts on flat roofs — tells you which one it is. We do those for free across DFW.

Yes. If the leak is isolated around a seam, penetration, flashing, drain, or damaged section of membrane, AVID can often complete a targeted repair. Full replacement is generally recommended only when damage is widespread, insulation is saturated, or the existing roof has reached the end of its service life.

Sometimes. If the existing roof is dry, structurally sound, and only one layer is currently on the building, a recovery is often viable and can save high costs. If the insulation is wet or you already have two layers, a tear-off is the only legitimate option.

A coating is a liquid-applied membrane sprayed or rolled onto an existing roof to restore waterproofing and extend its life. It's the right call when the roof is aging but structurally sound — it typically buys 10–15 more years for a fraction of the cost of replacement. It's the wrong call if the substrate is wet or failing.
